The word “fiction” has so many connotations that it would be difficult to explain it in one sentence. We can say that “fiction” is any imaginative re-creation or reconstruction of life. It means that we see different aspects of life in a story and the writer’s skill would be in attracting the reader’s attention to every detail of life, what may not be considered by man normally. In this case even our daydreams would be a fiction and human brain is the organ which devotes much of its energy to create fiction. All arts involve a craft. We cannot separate fiction from other forms of art. We educate ourselves in order to fit ourselves for living in a civilized community and the means in our studying are two important things: Arts and Science. A scientist’s concern is truth while the artist’s value is beauty. An artist may make a play, a story or a palace but he wants to make people who see or read or watch his creation become excited and admire its beauty.
